About

Hi, my name is Rachael and I’m chronically ill. I have an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis — this is a form of RA that largely affects my vertebrae. I suffer from fatigue, GI issues, headaches and vertigo, severe joint pain, and occasional nerve pain. To save the best for last, my vertebrae are slowly fusing together.

I’ve spent years navigating the American healthcare system, working to be my own advocate, and learning to alter my lifestyle for the importance of my health. Now, I’m glad to share some of my tips with you.

This blog contains honest articles about my chronic health struggle, recipes for those following a gluten-free and anti-inflammatory diet, and reviews of entertainment for the local Spoonie.

I live in Tempe, Arizona where I am finishing my English degree at ASU. When I’m not writing in this blog (and sometimes when I am), I’m snuggled by my chihuahua and my two cats.

I hope Chronically Clever helps you feel seen in your journey.

Love,
Rachael
